The FibreGrit Technology
This cutting-edge wood finish includes cellulose wood fibres resulting in the most durable wood protection, while still being ecological & safe to use (0% VOC). Thanks to this technology, it’s a breathing and saturating monocoat system.
One application without pre-treatments reduces time, packaging and transport. This also results in a lower price per m², saving you time & money.
Our DuroGrit works water and dirt repellent and the open pores also prevent cracking and peeling off. Enjoy a longer result with less maintenance and less worries!
The product is suitable for all wood species and surfaces and is also suitable for both residential and public use such as playgrounds, terraces, fencing,…
Prepare your surface correctly. Either clean it with Exterior Wood Cleaner for new wood or sand it for renovations. Use a 80-grit sandpaper for decking and siding and up to 120-grit for furniture, windows and doors. Depending on the state of the wood, sanding might still be recommended for new wood after cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions
A water-based oil like DuroGrit is an emulsion where oil is dispersed in water. After application, the water evaporates and leaves behind a protective oil layer on the wood.
DuroGrit is designed as a one-layer system. Applying a second coat may increase UV protection, but it also raises the risk of film formation, which can lead to peeling or flaking, and it will prolong the curing time. However, in exceptional cases, such as very weathered or grey wood, a second coat may be applied to achieve a more even colour. In such cases, we recommend diluting the second layer with 20% water. The high absorption of aged wood reduces the risk of creating a film-forming layer. In most situations, one coat is sufficient.
Yes. Colour advice does vary based on wood type, so we recommend taking a look at our DuroGrit colour advice chart (under Technical Info and select Downloads) to find the colour that works best for your wood type.
Yes, DuroGrit can be diluted with up to 20% water. This is recommended for rough or weathered wood, highly absorbent types of wood, or to improve spreadability during terrace applications.
DuroGrit and WoodCream differ in both application and finish. WoodCream is a wax-based, hydrophobic cream designed for vertical surfaces like cladding, fences, windows and doors. It offers strong water repellency, a self-cleaning effect, and a more opaque finish, making it ideal for colour changes or renovations without sanding. DuroGrit, in contrast, is a water-based oil with added wood fibers, developed to preserve the natural colour and prevent greying. It delivers a transparent, matte finish and is suitable for both vertical and horizontal surfaces such as terraces and garden furniture, thanks to its excellent UV and wear resistance.
